5 Reasons Why This Should Be Your Go To Cashback Credit Card

The Maybank Family and Friends Cashback Card is one of my main credit cards because it’s simple to use and offers good cashback on everyday expenses. Here’s how I make the most of it and why it might work for you too.

8% Cashback on 5 Categories

You can choose 5 categories from a total of 10 to earn 8% cashback each month from this list:

  1. Online shopping

  2. Beauty and wellness

  3. Data communications

  4. Dining and food delivery

  5. Entertainment

  6. Groceries

  7. Pharmacy

  8. Retail and pets

  9. Sports and apparel

  10. Transport

There’s also a bonus category for spending in Malaysia or Indonesia. Do note you can only switch categories once every 3 months.

Straightforward Spending Requirement

Easy to Track Spending with the App

I really love this feature. The Maybank App tracks your spending by category so you can:

  • Ensure you hit the $312 category cap for maximum cashback.

  • Avoid under-spending and missing out on rewards.

  • Prevent unnecessary overspending.

Good for Cross-Border Spending

If you frequent Malaysia (or Indonesia), signing up for this card is almost a no brainer. With 8% cashback, you still get almost 5% cashback after deducting the bank’s foreign exchange fees.

Final Thoughts The Maybank Family and Friends Cashback Card is easy to use, with straightforward requirements and high cashback for everyday expenses. If you spend regularly on dining, online shopping, and essentials, this card is worth considering.

My 5 Categories for Cashback
